College Gridiron Rivalries

There’s nothing quite like college football rivalries; the atmosphere and energy of the big game lends itself to an equally exciting tailgate party. If you’re anticipating heading to a game (or 12), keep us in the loop so we can help you kick off your college tailgating season with a bang.

The Old Oaken Bucket

(Purdue Boilermakers vs. Indiana University Hoosiers)

With more than 100 games played, the Old Oaken Bucket represents perhaps Indiana’s greatest college football rivalry. Purdue and I.U. represent the Big Ten in Division I competition, and both teams are seasonally in contention for bowl eligibility. The real enticement of this game comes from the pure, down-to-the-core hatred that each school has for the other on the football field. Whether the game’s played in West Lafayette or Bloomington, students, families, and alum plan their Saturdays around an incredible tailgating party. With finger-licking BBQ and beverages at hand, Purdue tailgating or IU tailgating doesn’t get much better.

The Monon Bell Classic

(Wabash Little Giants vs. DePauw University Tigers)

A century-plus worth of games played, and the winning record is nearly identical. Wabash and DePauw battle it out each year on the field for the right to hoist up the rivalry’s Monon Bell — a prize that is most precious to many from these Greencastle and Crawfordsville, Indiana, schools, respectively. Known as one of Indiana’s longest-running and heated rivalries, the game usually sells out, so make sure you grab a party bus from us before the clock hits zero on your Monon Bell tailgating outing!

Other In-state Rivalries

(Indiana State University Sycamores vs. Ball State Cardinals)

The on-and-off rivalry of Ball State and ISU proves that even years between games won’t quell rivalry talk amongst fans. These two teams have a long history of battling to put points on the board. When they do, make sure you’re ready to watch. Show your loyalty and hit the tailgating scene with other devoted fans by renting a party bus for the big game.

Whether you’re traveling across the Hoosier State with your Indy party bus for a rivalry game, or visiting your alma mater for homecoming, show school colors from the inside of a decked-out party bus. Although we are stationed in Broad Ripple, we bring the party to a school near and dear to you, in Indianapolis and beyond. In addition to tailgating, we also rent our party buses for proms, weddings, wine tours, and other sporting events in the state.  Request a reservation today by calling us at (317) 584-5545, and match the excitement of football season with a party bus.
